The Dragonfly 5 is Michael Kelly's red hot Limited Edition model. This is a hard to find 5 string acoustic bass. It features a new vine style inlay made from real pearl and abalone. The all maple body features great looking quilted maple. This exotic wood not only gives the bass a unique look, but also produces improved attack and acoustic projection. The bass has been equipped with a Fishman active pre-amp and Fishman under-saddle pickup. This includes a side mounted 3 band EQ and volume control. • Cnegley3rd - The review of this Bass guitar in Bass Player magazine was dead on. I just bought one (5 string version, fretted), went over it with a fine tooth comb, and cant find a single flaw. The action is better than my Fender Jazz and Carvin basses! An acoustic bass that sounds great, has great action, and all the fancy inlay work for this price is unbelievable. I recommend it highly.
   
• MerJermusiK.com - The only flaw I could find was a little finish marring at the nut (definite emphasis on little). This bass plays well and sounds great... plugged or unplugged. The sheer acoustic volume of this thing is astonishing.

  I normally don't write reviews on products. The fact that I bought a product and didn't return it is enough evidence that I'm satisfied with it. This one is different. I've been looking for a good accoustic bass for a while now. I have not been happy with what I've seen or heard. I started to do some reading about this Michael Kelly Dragonfly bass. I was impressed with what I've read and seen about it.

  I just got my purchase yesterday and could not put this instrament down. It looked great and played beautifully. I hooked it up to my amp and there is a lot of tonal control from the Fishman pickups. I feel that the value of price/quality was clearly in this guitar. It plays as good as or better than my two other basses and the looks are just great.

  It came packed in the case that I also purchased and was untuned. I did need to adjust the bridge slightly to compensate for the buzz on the low B string... minor... This guitar clearly was my best musical purchase.
